Swinging in the Sea of Love

Last Thursday was Valentine's Day and it was simple and sweet. We had our favorite dish, bratwurst and sauerkraut and watched our favorite TV program LOST, followed with a little sexy playtime. Friday we were both physically spent and our noisy neighbours were surprisingly gone and we ended up sleeping from 7PM to 7AM. Talk about being well rested.  And then on Saturday night I participated in a Persian Princess Dance Party. What a fantastic night!

Yeah, you know what I'm thinking? I love my life!

Brushed Off and Brassed OFF!

but do I let it get me down? Well, sometimes. My tendency is just to get over it. Tolerate the shit-head upstairs neighbours who walks on their heels. And accept as my dear friend brushes off her responsibility to help me, and then continues to brush me off altogether.

It's becoming apparent that I may have to confront both of these directly. I don't know, maybe not. I hate confrontation. I feel my blood pressure rising and my body tense and my breath shallows.  I suppose it doesn't have to be that way. It's still hard. It takes courage to speak up **cue Bob Marley song GET UP, STAND UP** and say

HEY NEIGHBOUR! DID YOU KNOW YOU WALK ON YOUR HEELS? BECAUSE I SURE DO.

OR

HEY FRIEND! I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING BRUSHED OFF AND I FEEL HURT THAT HAPPENS OFTEN. I TRY NOT TO TAKE IT PERSONALLY DON'T EXPECT ME TO JUMP AT YOUR INVITATIONS.

Wow, doesn't seem so difficult set to music. *smiles*

My apologies for the title of this post.... I'm not feeling particularly inspired.

It took longer than expected for snow to fall but winter is here none the less. It's cold and it's going to get colder. I am not looking forward to driving anywhere. I have a trip to PA this weekend for a regional PartyLite meeting. It's during the day so I feel much better driving there. After that I have nothing on my agenda for trips... well, except for a Cudworth afterwards to watch The GREYCUP Game!!!

YEAAAAAAAH! GO RIDERS GO!!!

I remember the last riders Greycup back up 1989. I was eleven and my Auntie Ruth and Uncle Bill were down for a visit from Alberta. I really can't remember much except that it was a great time! Probably the first time I really enjoyed watching a sports game. I'm looking forward to this weekend.

winter blues

The other day as I walked up to my apartment entrance I glanced to the fruit tree that stands outside the doorway to see that all of it's leaves have finally fallen to the ground. My heart sank at this site because this confirms that winter is indeed just around the corner. All this fall I've admired the changing colour of it's beautiful layers of red, orange and yellow leaves and occasionally I've thought, 'hey, I should take a picture of this'. Fall is my favorite season. It's less hot, there's less bugs, fall suppers, and breath taking colours. Plus, I fell in love with my sweetheart Peter in autumn so I suppose it holds a special place in my heart because of that.

I am thankful we haven't received any snow yet. Although I'll be surprised if we make it to Halloween before our first dump. It's inevitable.

So how do I beat the winter blues? Good question. My instincts tell me shopping trip for some new warm apparel may help ease my pain.

Hello World!

I'm trying to get used to my new home on VOX by added as much content as I can. Personally I've tried my fair share of blogsites like myspace, blogger and msn spaces and I find Vox's interface and ease of use very nice. As a user with a bit of html knowledge I had hoped for some customizability like that of blogger but alas, you can't have it all.

But enuf of my gushing over my new blog home here's the low-down on new stuff in my world.

News

Within 35 days Peter and I will be on our way to the sandy beaches of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We are super pumped up about it. On our trip we are definitely want to see some sea life and plan to do some snorkeling and also maybe a little scuba diving too. I'm hoping to see a sea turtle.

In preparation for our trip we're of course working out to get in Bikini body shape and we're also hitting the tanning beds. Yeah, I want any unnecessary bikini lines when we set out to those to be super sexy for those topless beaches. ( . )( . )  Yeah, funny thing I read on a review website for our vacations spot was that men on these beaches will be actually quite coy and casual about glancing at women's boobies while women on the other hand will outright stare. Strange ain't it?

In other news, Saskatoon City Counsel has decided to change the name of one of our bridges. The beloved Victoria bridge has been renamed to 'Traffic Bridge'. Isn't that aweful? I poop on City Counsel for making that decision. Of no consequence, I will continue refer to it as the Victoria Bridge and people will continue understand which one I'm referring to as there is ONLY ONE bridge on Victoria Avenue... and I love bridge.

Weather

Well, what a change 2 week has had in Saskatoon. Roughly two weeks ago we were in the midst of the worst blizzard Saskatoon has seen in 50 years, followed with a sharp decrease in temperature which created an Arctic like environment. It would seem Mother nature is offering a few days of reprieve and now we are basking in plus 4 degree (Celsius) temperatures. Mind you this is nothing compared to the plus 30 degree weather in the DR right now but it's still appreciated under the none the less.

Sports

The Super Bowl is soon approaching and so are the commercials. I understand Fed-EX (aka K-Fed) to be staring in a commercial which pokes fun at himself. I say way to go Kevin, cash in while you can on your temporary celebritard status because you can guarantee that next year nobody will be talking about your sorry ass. Also, I heard that someone is planning to air his marriage proposal to his girlfriend during a 30 sec commercial spot. If you haven't heard about this you have to check out his blog. Yes, this man has a blog. Go check it out at www.mysuperproposal.com if you don't believe me. Oh man, I can see this going sooooooooo bad.  Aw, why oh why would a person do this? I wonder if it has crossed his mind that she could say NO. If you're a bit sick like me then you're secretly hoping it will turn out horribly bad so we can watch it on youtube and enjoy laughing at him over and over again.

I guess Prince will be entertaining the masses during the half-time show. I've never seen one of his shows but I had a good friend see one and said that Prince was the best live performer he has ever saw. Well, I guess find out soon enough. Although in my mind nothing will live up to the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake halftime show. So much controversy over a nipple... A NIPPLE! and you didn't even see it either. Funny how watching men a violent game like football does not phase Americans but an exposed breast is appalling. I don't get it.
